Sep. 4th, 2010 11:56 amNext quarter I am going to be in a class Called Industry Special projects, which is arranged for students to compete in Discarded to Divine : http://www.discardedtodivine.org/
Originally I had missed the deadline for applying and submitting references (It was the week of the Hamburglar) But then later on they called me and asked me to come in. I guess very few students had applied, and they were getting a little despite to get a regular class size. Anyway I went in, showed the head of the department My re-designed wool jacket and a design project. She said she would get the references for me, and I just needed to turn in the essay.
That night (Before I had finished the essay) I got an e-mail saying I was accepted into the class. Initially this made me a little sad; being accepted just because they were despite? I decided it did not matter, however, because I would just be extra awesome when class time came.
A few days later (When I stopped in to drop off the essay) I overheard a student saying he had not heard whether or not he had been accepted yet...apparently I was one of the few who heard right away. This made me feel all shiny.
This is going to be an adventure. I have no idea what I am making until we get our supplies from D&D. I also have no idea what the class is going to be like besides that it is 6 hours (Vs. the regular 3) I am excited, but I am also slightly terrified.
