Fathers Day
For Fathers day, I made my Dad a tie. (He's an orthodontist, he wears a lot of ties) After years of me stealing his to make many, many failed tie-outfits I figured it was about time I gave one back.

The fabric: A yellow silk Charmuse remnant for the outer. The lining is a light weight silk twill I designed and printed in a photo-shop/textiles class last spring. I thought about using it for the outside as well, but decided that would be too girlie :)
The pattern: Pattern and Tutorial from Purl Bee. http://www.purlbee.com/fathers-day-ties/

Finished Tie:

All in all it's a good tutorial and pattern. Ironing it all together is really fidgety, but the hardest part I found was finding interfacing that was strong, but not stiff. I mean, who wants to wear a cardboard tie?
